Law Enforcement Call Off Operation for Four-Year-Old Child Disappeared in Australia's Remote Area
Australia's police have ended the operation for a young boy who has been missing in the wilderness for approximately twenty-one days, after additional attempts were unable to locate any traces of the child.
Chronology of Incidents
The child was spotted playing around his residence on a remote rural property close to Yunta, about 300km from Adelaide, on late September.
His family member left him alone for about half an hour before returning, only to find the youngster nowhere to be found, initiating one of the most extensive comprehensive operations in the region's history.
Latest Status
Authorities - who do not believe foul play - say they will carry on investigating, but that the case has become a "recovery operation".
Earlier, officials temporarily wound down the operation, only to recommence it on recently alongside numerous Australian Defense Force members.
"Commissioner Grant Stevens said authorities were scanning a broader region based on new assessments from medical and rescue experts, rather than any fresh leads."
Operation Challenges
On the end of last week, officials announced that the new search had not found any traces of the boy.
